Cooperation with Iranian partner institutions

On 29 April 2024, Iván Szántó, Head of Department, visited the headquarters of the Iranian Studies Foundation (Bonyad-e Iranshenasi) in Tehran, where the Academic Director, Imman Nezamzade, announced his institute's readiness to cooperate in science, education and research and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding. (link) Both parties see opportunities for mobility of teachers and students between their institutions. On the occasion of the National Day of the Persian Gulf, Mr. Szántó received a copy of the book "Chronicles of the Persian Gulf". The previous day, the Head of the Department had held a meeting at the Sa'di Institute in Tehran with Gholam-'Ali Haddad-'Adel, the Director of the Institute and former Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majles). During the visit to the Iranian centre of Persian language education, the Department presented the structure, achievements and current work of the undergraduate, master and doctoral programmes, and the Institute expressed its receptiveness. Afterwards, Mr. Szántó had a meeting at the National Museum of Iran with Jebrail Noukande, Director General of the museum. (link) In the meeting, which was also attended by Fereydun Bigleri, Cultural Director of the museum and Nina Rezai, Head of the Education Department of the National Museum of Iran, they reviewed the possibilities of cooperation between the National Museum of Iran and Hungarian museums. Noukande, referring to the relationship between the National Museum of Iran and the Hungarian National Museum, announced that the institution he heads is ready to organise a joint exhibition. The parties stressed the importance of expanding cultural relations between the two countries and the role of the Iranian Studies Department in this regard.
